The dentist didn't kill me or even really hurt me that much. He never does so I don't know why I greet my release from the chair with such a mixture of relief and surprise.
On the way home from work this evening I was struck anew by the discrepancy in clothing shown when the weather warms up. Why is it that men can walk topless around the streets unchallenged, regardless of BMI but if a woman strips down to even her bra she can get arrested? There will never be gender equality until a 20-stone woman can walk down the Kentish Town Road with her mammaries swinging free in the breeze and her shorts resting only half-way up her bottom and think nothing of it...

inappropriate terror
I'm terrified of going to the dentist. Odd because my particular dental expert is a kind and patient man who has been looking after my teeth for many years. But I'm still scared to the extent of increasingly sleepless nights in the week before an appointment and then a frankly very upset stomach on the day.
My appointment is at 9.00 this morning. I know it's not going to kill me but I have this feeling of looking my last on all things lovely...

My first attempt
This is my very first attempt at anything like this. I'm not even sure why I'm doing this, other than being inspired by reading Random Acts of Reality recently. If anyone is reading this and isn't already familiar with that blog then I strongly recommend it. http://randomreality.blogware.com/blog
This isn't going to be anywhere near as interesting. I'm just a very ordinary woman living an ordinary life in a big city. I go to work, I come home, I feed my cat, I obsess about my weight, I watch bad TV, I pretend that I am going to go back to the gym from Monday, I make lists which I subsequently lose and I do inexplicable things like start a blog.
Let's see how it goes...
