the naming of blogs

How did you all come up with the name for your blog?  I ask because I want to change mine but for the life of my can't think of what to call it.  All I know is that I want to make a few changes to this space, the blog name being one of them.

Currently it is a line from "Hamlet", spoken by Claudius:
"My words fly up, my thoughts remain below
Words without thoughts never to heaven go"

Any suggestions for a new blog name?!

  1. Mine comes from a prayer I was taught as a kid. I thought it was a funny thing to say, that we live in a valley of tears. But infertility has been that for me.

Is there anything in your childhood that relates to what you are going through right now?

  2. I wanted something that could define me and "my life after loss" seemed to be spot on. But it took me a while to come up with something that felt "right"

  3. Mine is based on how I was feeling at the time I created this blog based on our life up till that point...E and I are in our 40's and had been through lots of ups and downs (little did I know more was to come), so it just came together. I guess based it on either where you feel your life is at now or a reflection on what has brought you to this point in life. Good luck, I look forward to seeing the new name and other changes.

  4. I like your blog name. I don't think you should change it.

My blog name (http://ambivalentwomb.blogspot.com/) came from my initial ambivalence about becoming a mom that morphed into my ute's clear reluctance to actual accept embryos.

I'd like to change it, but won't.

  5. well i started blogging about newcastle and living here so 'watching geordie life' seemed nice. then i wanted a separate blog about writing. so 'non geordie writer' fitted well with the geordie theme, but as i'm not a geordie worked well there too. so when i got pregnant and wanted a blog name, 'non geordie mum' seemed obvious.

but then i lost the baby, and even though i moved it from wordpress to blogger i stuck with the name. stupidity? optimism? neither seems like the reason. i don't really know why i kept it, and some days i hate it. but i hope that in the long run it will prove to be accurate, so i keep it.

is there something you'd like to call the blog but that you're not sure about? if so go with your gut. it's usually right. at the end of the day if you don't like a change you make you can always put it back to how it was.

  6. How about 'Words Fly Up?'

Every time I read your blog I recite Hamlet!
