- I "passed" my archery course, got a certificate and everything! It means that I can now shoot at any club in England, but I think I will go to the one run by the people who ran the course. My next free Saturday, I'm going down to an archery shop to get myself a bow and some arrows :-)
- I got taken to watch England play Australia at Lord's yesterday. Wonderful seats in the covered part (kept dry), picnic lunch complete with champagne, England won. Who could ask for anything more?!
- I went away for 6 days the week before last, to Norway. This bullet point deserves a post to itself, and it's going to get one.
- I fell down the stairs a couple of weeks ago, somehow managing to do so on my bottom instead of on my head. Apart from being a bit shaken, I was completely fine. One of the advantages of having an arse the size and texture of a sofa I guess. Anyway, I mention it because, as I was bouncing bottom-first down the stairs, it flitted through my mind that if I broke a leg during that little mishap, I would have to go and stay with my parents. One of those "you're single and you live alone" moments that come out of the blue and sucker-punch me, just as much as those "you're childless and always will be" do. Meh.

Yay, good for you on the archery, travelling to Norway (it's definitely on my "must visit" list), and the cricket. (NZers support anyone who plays Australia, as you know!)
ReplyDeleteSorry you had onoe of those "alone" moments as you were bouncing down the stairs. (I have a lot of stairs in my house - I've bounced down a few of them too). Hugs.
So amazingly cool about the archery! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI've never been outside the US and traveled very little in comparison to most people, so I am looking forward to your trip pics and details. Norway, wow!
And OWWW! about the fall. I probably would bounce REALLY well! I'm apparently an expert at falling UP stairs, since I do that pretty regularly.
OW re the fall! I hope you're ok gorgeous?
ReplyDeleteThe trip to Norway sounds lovely, can't wait to read more and archery hmmm played a few times but it's been years, always fun tho!
Hubby VERY happily informed me this morning that England won again at the cricket - can you tell we're England supporters in this house? Totally envious that you went to Lords!!
Good to see an update from you my lovely.
xxxxx
Wow you are now a superhero!
ReplyDeleteThe archery certificate is amazingly cool, good for you.
I am sure your Norway trip was magical..please share more details.
As for the alone moments, they suck...I am sorry in the middle of all that coolness you got a blow to the heart.
I kep meaning to tell you about a group I have started to go to occasionally (it's very casual) : it's a meetup group for women without children. Women from all walks of life and differing reasons for their childless status. Check it out (and don't be put off by the fearsome joining questionnaire as I was!)

Thank you, I will check it out :-)
DeleteI took a tumble myself 2.5 weeks ago. My tailbone is STILL sore. :p Dr told me it will take 6-8 weeks to heal & there's really not much that can be done -- ibuprofen & the occaional ice pack. :p Glad you are on the mend. It does make you feel suddenly vulnerable, doesn't it?
