tracking

Every time A flies somewhere I track his flight on the internet.  It struck me today, as I had his flight from Hong Kong to New Zealand minimised on my desktop at work, that this is surely a strange thing to do.  What do I think I am going to see?
11:00  taxiing
11:20  taken off
12:00  200 miles out
12:15  oops, fallen out of the sky into the sea - our bad.

Anyway, I have been doing quite well.  I decided that wallowing, while it has its place, is not really the way forward.  Instead I've been doing all manner of things I can't do when A is home.  Like watch old episodes of "Sex and the City" back to back while eating ice cream straight from the tub.  Or not bothering to cook over the weekend and instead eating toasted banana sandwiches for dinner.  Or playing Motown loud enough to be heard over the Hoover.

Still - twelve more days until he comes home

  1. 1) Reorganise the drawers - you know you want to.
    2) Change something and swear it was always that way.
    3) Dance in your pants. (Probably already doing this... Shameless woman!)
    4) Fart.
    5) CRICKET! RUGBY! FOOTY! (For those not aware - there is a gender role reversal in Illanare's relationship when it comes to sport.)
    6) Invite a mate over without his partner... /innocentface.

    BFG.

  2. I hope you enjoy your "you time" and have lots of fun. I'm always saying to Mr. Jem, "How can I miss you if you never go away?"

  5. I vote for 2).
Is it bad that I laughed at the 12.15 update?
I hope he arrives home safely in 12 days :)

  6. I do the same things! But how do you make a toasted banana sandwich? Sounds yummy. My Dh travels a lot for work; we actually spend 3-6 months apart each year. Since its been like this ever since we first met its normal, and I find that I enjoy the freedom and change in schedule (even though I do always miss him terribly).

And yes like B i too laughed at the 12.15 update - if Qantas did live tracking i actually fear what theirs would say with their recent track record!!
